Well I am 39 weeks pregnant and scheduled to be induced with gel on Friday and Pitocin on Saturday. We are excited to meet our baby girl. I have definitely reached the "very" uncomfortable stage. With all of the signs and symptoms I have had I can't believe this hasn't started on its own already but Annika was 5 days late and it seems like this one is nice and cozy in there too.
She measured at 7 lbs 7 oz give or take half a pound 2 weeks ago so she should be another big one. We're ready...I think!?! Clothes are washed, I ordered and received a new miracle blanket and I think Tim and I are both ready to be done with work for awhile. Hopefully this is a good baby.
We are still getting settled into the new house. I love it. We are trying to get hings in order. I have put away most of our clothes and put together 5 garbage bags of clothes for summer yard sales. We ordered blinds, have had people over to give sprinkler quotes and are anxiously awaiting having the outside of our house painted.
Everything else seems to be going well. Annika is feeling better, synchro is going well and AAU basketball is about to get kicked off with their first tournament this weekend. Go Fury...sorry about the timing of the baby!!!
We'll keep you posted when our new little one joins our busy family!

Update
It has been awhile since I posted so I thought I would give an update.
We are all moved into our new house. Of course there are still many things to be unpacked but it is functional and we are very happy with it. I love it there...it makes me so happy. The only drawback right now is that I don't get to spend much time there! Life is insane!!!
On top of work and being 36 (almost 37) weeks pregnant I am coaching again this year. We practice every day except Sunday's. It will be nice to have something to make me get out of the house once the baby gets here though. Once again we have a great group of girls.
Things are moving right along with baby. We have another ultrasound next week to do a size check. If she is looking big we may start moving things along. Good thing is we have spring break next week so we will both be home. It will give us some good quality time with Annika too.
She seems to be enjoying her new house although she is definitely missing Grandma and Grandpa. She has also grown very attached to her Daddy in the past few weeks. This morning she was so sad when he left for work. The lip quivered and the tears started to roll as she watched him drive away. She is so precious...I can't believe how lucky we are to have her. She has been a bit of a handful at bedtime but it seems to be improving slightly. She LOVES her new big girl bed. I think she has only fallen out twice so far.
Tim has been amazing these past few weeks. He has even been cooking supper! I probably don't tell him enough how much I appreciate him. He has been so helpful with setting up the house, taking care of Annika and helping me find time to relax every day.
I think that's all for now. Life is about to get even more crazy. We would love to have visitors at the new house. It's fun to show it off so come on by...call first though to make sure we are around!

Winter Be Done
I am so done with winter. I hate being cold and I hate having to worry about falling down all of the time. I am happy to report that I have passed this on to Annika who will now announce that "Mama we hate this weather." I can't wait to be hanging out by our pool this summer.
Annika has also made the decision that she needs to go to Disney World. Good news is that this is actually a possibility for us this summer. If Tim's Fury team qualifies for Nationals this year the tournament is in Disney World!!! I am so excited by the possibility of seeing her face as she meets Mickey and the Princesses. Of course we need to remember that we will also have a 3 month old but I am hoping that between Tim and I and the b-ball moms we will be able to make it work.
Things with the house are coming along very nicely. There are pics on my Facebook page if you haven't seen them. I haven't taken the time to figure out how to post pics on here yet. We close on March 5th but probably won't move in until the following weekend. This will give us (by us I mean Tim) the chance to paint the girls' rooms and move stuff in bits at a time. If the Spartan's win their first playoff game they will play in Rochester (I think) on the 6th so we'd rather just not have to worry about moving that weekend.
I had a Dr's appointment this week and everything looks good. I have kept my weight under control with my diabetes diet. I am measuring big (3.5 weeks ahead) but at this point the Dr says that doesn't mean much. At my next appointment we will have another ultrasound to check the size of this little woman and will make decisions from there. I am having a lot of pain in my hips and the Dr is thinking she may be getting a little large. Only time will tell!
Synchro season starts in less than a month...I can't believe it! I am starting to feel a little nervous but excited too. I love the girls and can't wait to catch up with them. We'll have to take it one day at a time and see how it goes. Thank goodness for Laura's flexibility. Spring is going to be insane!!!

Update on Us
We have had a busy few weeks! Time is flying by...hopefully it continues to do so. Tim has been very busy with basketball. The team has had a few very close losses followed by a handy win last night. Annika and I are excited to be able to attend 2 games this week, Friday and Saturday.
The house is coming along very nicely. The drywall is all up so it is really beginning to look like a home. There are a few things that we are concerned about but they are minor details in the grand scheme of things. I have been busy trying to pick out paint colors, window treatments and furniture for the girls rooms. Annika says she wants a pink room and we would like to do the baby's room in purple but I worry that Annika will then decide she wants the purple room and that just won't work out with her decor. Major dilema I know!!! The other day Annika told me she wants a pink room with a purple pillow and a pink fuzzy chair with a computer and a dresser full of clothes so she can go to weddings. Thats my girl...I worry I've created a monster.
We had some good news after my ultrasound last week. My placenta previa is gone so assuming everything else goes as planned I still have a chance at a natural birth. Baby looked good and I am proud to announce that she is extremely stubborn...just like her mom, dad and sister. These poor girls didn't stand a chance coming form Tim and I. Annika was thrilled as I am now able to lift her again. She's really been taking advantage of that. The bad news is that from here until the end I now have to wear thigh high support hose...sick! Tim was wondering when during all of this I turned 90. It seriously takes me 10 minutes just to put those suckers on...I can't believe how tight those suckers are. But hey on the upside they make my legs look skinnier.
We learned of some shocking news yesterday. Our former next door neighbors were involved in what appears to be a murder suicide on Monday night. Our hearts are broken for their 4 year old son who was found unharmed in the house. Please keep this little boy in your prayers...he will need all the help and support he can get for a long time. It's so sad to think that his innocence is gone and he no longer has a mommy and a daddy.
Well I guess that's all for now. I should get back to work. I hope you are all having a wonderufl winter...at least it's warmed up here a little bit.

Back at It
Well we are back to the grind. I told Tim the other day that this is the long stretch in the education world. It's hard to believe that our little princess could be here by the end of it. Tim and I both have the same spring break this year and depending on how everything goes with the last chunk of this pregnancy our little one could be here any time between March 21st and our due date April 18th. There are a lot of things being taken into consideration...we will keep everyone posted.
Christmas this year was great. It started off very rough but ended with the birth of our beautiful niece Lyla. Andrew and Katie welcomed her to the world on December 30th in the afternoon. Labor was very quick this time around and mom and baby are doing well. she looks so much like Faith. I think we all fell in love very quickly!
I worked through the 23rd of September. My principal was kind enough to let me leave early so we could get out of town ahead of the weather. The drive to Duluth was great. We got there, enjoyed a nice dinner complete with Annika having an "accident" in the booster seat, went swimming and turned in for a good lights sleep. We woke up to enjoy a yummy breakfast by the lake and enjoyed the view of a beautiful morning blizzard. We set off on out trip only to decide that we would not be going any further than Two Harbors. I was TERRIFIED, complete with tears and all. (I've been crying a lot lately...thanks baby girl). The roads were horrible and we could not see 2 feet in front of the car. When we arrived in Two Harbors it eased up a bit so after checking the GPS for the next closest town we decided to push on. Roads were great until just past Grand Marais when the weather picked up again. The normal 3.5 hour trip took about 6 hours but we made it to Thunder Bay for Christmas.
Christmas this year was so much fun with Annika. This was the first year that she really got the whole Santa/presents thing. The funniest was when she got her Princess Dress-Up Trunk from Santa and turned to us to ask where her Princess Shoes were. Gotta love a girl who knows what she wants. We were able to spend some time with family and friends. Annika loves my cousin DJ...she even fell asleep in his arms at the dining room table on Christmas Day.
Biggest lesson learned over the holidays...NEVER take your toddler off of their schedule for napping and sleeping. It has been a disaster to try and deal with her and get her back on track. Just need to keep reminding ourselves that she is only two and this was mostly my fault.
Tim's team did very well in their tournament this year. They won the whole thing. The girls are off to a very good start this season. They have some tough games coming up but they seem to be playing well as a team for the most part.
In 2010 we have many things to look forward to. The birth of our baby girl, moving into our new house, good basketball/synchro/AAU seasons, watching our nieces/goddaughters grow and change, the arrival of more babies for some very dear friends and much, much more. We look forward to sharing these times with all of you who who love and cherish.

Wow How the Time Flies
It has been so long since I updated...life has been busy. Basketball season will be in full swing this week. Practice has been going on for the last 2 weeks but the first game of the season if tomorrow. I am really excited to go to the games. I have sent out my prayers to the basketball referees for an easy season. Seeing as I am already 20 weeks along the added stress of games in my seventh and eighth months of pregnancy would not be good. For those of you who know me or have seen me during an intense game know that it isn't pretty. I can get pretty fired up sometimes...Tim has told me not to worry about it and just relax but that competitive spirit can't help but come out.
We find out on Friday whether this little one is a boy or a girl. I can't wait. I have an inkling but we'll see what happens. Then we can get to the task of picking out some names...Annika has decided it is a girl named Coco...it may be a girl but her name will NOT be Coco...we'll fight that battle when we get there.
Annika was at home with Grandpa and Grandma for the past 2 weeks. Although I know they love her a ton it was probably nice for her to go back to daycare this morning. She was very excited to see her friends.
She has been a busy girl. She spent last night and this monring putting the Christmas "instruments" on the tree. Marilyn and I will have to od some rearranging to move some of the ornaments to the top of the tree but just like her Mama she loves this decorating thing. She has added some interesting new phrases to her vocabulary these past few weeks. Some of my favorites are "it's a mystery," "duuhh," "whatever," and "you happy now mama?" Another one that hopefully we have eliminated was completely my fault. Annika loves animated shows and wanted to watch one right before bedtime...seeing as nothing was on I made the mistake of turing on South Park. Well Annika apparently listened very well when Cartman was talking. That night in her crib she yelled out "somebody bring me some cheese dammit!" This weekend it was "Dammit I can't get my bubble wand out." The fact that she was using it in the right context is amazing to me...she is too smart.
Things with the house are now in full swing. The basement was dug last Monday, foundation poured on Tuesday and now we wait 2 weeks until framing starts. It is so exciting to know it has been started and I can't wait to watch it go up.
I guess that's all for now. If anyone has gift ideas for my Mom, Dad and sister they would be much appreciated!

Adventures in Potty Training
OK so how lucky are we? My daycare lady (bless her heart) asked if she could potty train Annika this week. They started yesterday. We got Annika all hyped up to be wearing big girl underwear just like the other girls at daycare. The first day went well...she wet through of her 7 outfits but only 2 were major wets and the others were just dribbles where she knew and then tried to hold it til she got to the potty. Well now our problem is that she is obsessed with these underwear and has some trouble keeping the same pair on. She wants to put on a new pair everytime she goes to the potty, wet or not. Oh well, minor problem I"m guessing in the grand scheme of the whole thing.
The past few weeks have been busy. We made a trip up to Duluth and then Thunder Bay over MEA break. Annika loved the hotel and the waterpark...I couldnt believe how cold the water was. She also loved the BOO Barn at the Pumpkin Patch we went to. Now as the daughter of Tim and I who are both afraid of haunted houses and creepy stuff in general you wouldn't think that our daughter would want to tour this "haunted" barn (pitch black, creepy music, creepy decorations you get the point) not once, not twice but four times before we had to physicaly leave the pumpkin patch. She is still talking about the Old Rocking Lady!
She has also had quite a bad cough for the past few weeks. Tip for all of you out there who are seeking a flu shot but have been put on a waiting list. Apparently the trick is to get yourself in for an appointment. Both Annika and I were able to get ours this way. The clinics have the flu shots there but ar enot taking appointments specifically to get the shot but will give it to you if you are there for another reason...my advice make something up and go in. I couldn't believe that as a pregnant women who works in the schools I had such a hard time getting a flu shot...for all the talk about high risk blah blah blah they certainly haven't been very accommodating. Anyway back to the cough...cough syrup with codeine is not even doing the trick...poor baby, hopefully it's gone soon.
Things with the new house are in full swing. We have chosen a model, put down our money, made all of our interior/exterior selecetions and are now waiting for the city to approve the permit. We should be in by February or March...depending on the weather. As long as we're in before baby comes I"ll be a happy woman.
Tim is gearing up for the start of basketball season. He has also taken on an increased role with the Fury. He is excited and nervous all at once as he has a lot on his plate and life is about to get very busy once season starts. I am hoping the Spartans have a good season and that I will be able to keep myself under control so as not to induce labor by my craziness during the games. I am sure his Fury team will have another great season as well but that is a ways off so we focus on the Spartans for now. Go Simley!!!
Anyways I guess thats all for now. I will try and post sme pics when I have time to figure this all out!
